what’s the best way to finish a new wood fence?

fence place said spray it with linseed oil, using a pump sprayer like you use for garden spraying. I used thompson water seal with a brush before. what is best?

I’m a big fan of Thompson Waterseal. I use it on two of my wood barns and on my decks. I have always used a pump sprayer to apply it. This is very quick and easy and gets into all of the little nooks and crannies.
